A favorite meal to warm you for the Holidays

With everyone visiting for the holidays, it can be taxing to figure out something different to make for dinner that has something everyone will like. This recipe is one that is a hit for our family and we wanted to share it with yours.

4 Cheese Mac and Honey Pepper Chicken Recipe

This is a copycat recipe that’s a favorite in our household. It’s a great meal to make for a small gathering or a large one and be ready for rave reviews!

** start cooking 4-6 strips of bacon and pre-heat the oven if you’d like breadsticks with your meal. We buy a good pre-made brand so save time.

1st make Honey Pepper Sauce
¾ cup honey
½ cup soy sauce
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ cup pineapple juice
1 lemon juiced
1 tbsp vinegar
1 tsp black pepper
Dash of cayenne pepper if desired

Mix in a sauce pan/simmer until sauce thickens

2nd make the chicken
Use chicken tenders or cut breasts into strips
Soak in buttermilk, seasoned flour-repeat
Put chicken in a pan with a little olive oil
Once they are done put them in the pot with the honey pepper sauce so they can soak up all the goodness. Just leave the sauce/chicken on low so you don’t overcook the chicken.

3rd make the pasta
Boil Cellentani noodles (we find these at our local Hyvee grocery store)
Start your cheese sauce so the two can be combined when both are done

4th make four cheese sauce (this takes just about 5 min so don’t start it until your pasta has 5 minutes to go.)
½ cup parmesan cheese
¾ cup mozzarella
½ cup romano
½ cup asiago
½ stick of butter
2 cups cream
Dash of basil
3 cloves of minced garlic
**Add butter 1st wait until melted add cream then other ingredients

5th plate it all
Put the mac n’ cheese on the bottom of the plate, the chicken will get placed on top then put some extra Honey Pepper sauce on top if desired, put cut up bacon on top along with parsley.
Bon Appetit you may eat! (that’s our youngest daughter’s favorite saying)
